Stephen J. Meringoff is a Managing Partner of Himmel + Meringoff Properties, Inc., and Chairman of its affiliated property management company, Meringoff Properties, Inc. Mr. Meringoff has been playing an active ownership role in the New York City Real Estate community as a Real Estate Principal for over 33 years and currently owns and operates a portfolio of commercial property valued in excess of $1 Billion. Since 1979, he has acquired more than 45 commercial properties comprising approximately four million square feet in New York City and Los Angeles. His real estate specialty has been the acquisition and operation of existing undervalued properties and the subsequent upgrading and creation of value in these properties.

Mr. Meringoff is a past Chairman of both the Midtown South Preservation and Development Committee and the Park Avenue South Association. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Fifth Avenue Association, a Trustee of the City of Hope National Medical Center and the Institute for East-West Security Studies. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Association for a Better New York, the Cornell University Real Estate Advisory Board and the Real Estate Council of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He was honored as “the Distinguished Citizen of the Year” by the 23rd Street Association, Inc. His philanthropic activity is focused primarily in support of public education and he currently serves on a number of Boards in the area. He resides in Manhattan and is President of the Board of Directors of his cooperative apartment building.

Mr. Meringoff holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Leslie Wohlman Himmel Leslie Wohlman Himmel

Leslie W. Himmel is a Managing Partner of Himmel + Meringoff Properties LLC, which she formed with Stephen Meringoff in 1985. Since that time, she has become one of New York’s most active Owners/Landlords having accumulated a substantial portfolio of commercial real estate holdings valued in excess of $500 million. She has been called “the highest ranking female landlord in Manhattan’s commercial property market” by Crain’s New York Business. Himmel + Meringoff’s focus continues to be on opportunistic purchases with an emphasis on strategic repositioning of the properties.

Ms. Himmel’s board memberships include the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), serving on the Board of Governors and Executive Committee as Assistant Treasurer. In 1995, she founded and continues to chair the REBNY Economic Development Committee and is a member of REBNY’s Owners and Builders. She is an active member of the Harvard Business School Club of New York as well as the Young Presidents’ and World Presidents’ Organizations (YPO/WPO). In addition, she was elected to the Trustees Council of Penn Women (University of Pennsylvania) and the Wharton School Zell Lurie Real Estate Center. Ms. Himmel has been honored as one of “New York’s 100 Most Influential Women” by Crain’s New York Business, featured in The Mann Report’s “Tribute to Women of the Real Estate Industry” and has been included in the Association of Real Estate Women’s list of “100 Women Real Estate Leaders for the 21st Century.” In December 2009, Ms. Himmel was awarded the Young Man/Young Woman Real Estate Association (YMWREA) Senior Woman of the Year Award. She has been featured on the televised Michael Stoler Report, and is a frequent guest speaker and panelist.

Leslie Wohlman Himmel graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. degree. She received a M.B.A. with high honors from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

Farrel Virga Farrell Virga 

Farrell Virga has been with Meringoff Properties for over twenty-five years. He manages the daily operations of the New York and Los Angeles portfolio, presiding over the management, leasing, administration, operations and financial reporting for the properties. Mr. Virga was formerly a corporate officer with Teleprompter Corporation, where he was responsible for the financial planning and budgeting for over one hundred cable television systems nationally. He serves on the Board of Directors and he is a member of the Executive Committee of Mount Manresa, a multi-purpose non-sectarian retreat facility in Staten Island. Mr. Virga attended New York University’s Real Estate Institute.

He is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in New York and New Jersey and is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York.
Mark Stein Mark S. Stein

Mark S. Stein is Senior Vice President and Director of Leasing of Meringoff Properties.  Mark is a 30 year industry veteran who joined Meringoff Properties in 1986 and rejoined the firm in 2005 after a nine-year hiatus. Mr. Stein has been the Executive Vice President of ZAR Realty Management Corporation where he was instrumental in the acquisition of 11 Madison Avenue, and spearheaded the leasing, financing and management of the owner’s commercial portfolio of five million square feet. He also held the position of Director of Asset Management for Olmstead Properties and was responsible for business activities including acquisitions, leasing, property management and construction within the portfolio.  He began his real estate career in 1979 at Newmark & Company Real Estate, Inc., where he represented owners of office and loft buildings.

Mark is an active member of the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association and a member of Real Estate Board of New York where he participates on many of the district sub committees. He graduated with a B.A. from Brooklyn College and attended The Graduate Center at The New School for Social Research where he studied urban planning and policy analysis.
Rob Langer Rob Langer 

Rob Langer is Managing Partner of Langer + Meringoff Properties, Inc., in Los Angeles. Rob started at Meringoff Properties in 1986 as Director of Leasing and became Partner in 2003. He is responsible for all acquisition, sales, leasing and marketing activity in Southern California.

Mr. Langer is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of California and a candidate for the CCIM designation. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) as well as the Los Angeles Commercial Real Estate Association (LACRA). Rob currently serves on the Board of the Children’s Cancer Research Fund and held a Board position on the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. He also served as Chairman of the Hollywood Economic Development Committee.

Rob began his career in Public Accounting and Tax Planning. In 1981, he worked at Jones Lang Wootton, where he was responsible for analyzing investment properties as well as the marketing/leasing of more than 2.7 million square feet of office, retail, and industrial projects.
